Growing Opportunity: Our New Retail Nursery Site
We’re excited to announce the launch of our new retail nursery site, a natural next step in the growth of our thriving farming program that started in 2006 in Sebastopol. As interest and participation in our agricultural efforts expanded, it became clear we had outgrown our original space. When the opportunity to establish a dedicated nursery site came along, we knew it was the perfect fit to continue cultivating both plants and potential.
This new nursery will serve as a retail space open to the public, offering a wide variety of plants, garden supplies, and seasonal items. But more importantly, it will serve as a vibrant training ground for adults with developmental disabilities. From planting and watering to customer service and sales, the nursery will provide diverse, hands-on experiences that build real-world job skills in a supportive environment.
The retail aspect adds a whole new layer of opportunity. Our clients will not only learn horticultural practices, but also how to manage inventory, operate a point-of-sale system, assist customers, and maintain a professional work environment. These experiences help prepare them for future employment opportunities in a wide range of industries, while building confidence and a strong sense of accomplishment.
What makes this space truly special is the connection it fosters—between our clients and their work, between the nursery and the community, and between people who care about inclusion and sustainability. We believe that everyone has something valuable to contribute, and this nursery is a place where those contributions will be seen, supported, and celebrated.
You are invited to come visit, shop local, and see the amazing work being done. Every purchase helps support our mission, and every interaction helps build a more inclusive future. We’re proud of how far our farming program has come and excited to watch this new branch continue to grow.
